Vitumbua

 vitumbua (singular: kitumbua). A sweet donut or pancake with a slight exterior crust and a fluffy, melt in your mouth interior. vitumbua are East African breakfasts (most favourate)  they are happily eaten and shared in the Swahili countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Uganda, Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi, Rwanda and Burundi, Somalia. 

 

Ingridients

  • 2 cups jasmin rice
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 4 Tbs sugar
  • 2 ts dreid yeast
  • 5 peaces cadarmon (for flavor)
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil

preparation method

Take 2 cups of jasmine rice, sock into water and leave it over night. Then brend it with kitchen Maschine (Juice Maschine) together with half cup water or coconut milk and 5 peaces of cardamon for flavor (option)

Take half cup of flour, pinch of salt, 4 Tbs  spoons of sugar, 2 ts of dried yeast add to the rice mixture. Mix it well and leave to rise twice size of the previous mixture.
Then prepare a cooking pan add some oil let it get hot and start cooking by taking few amount ot the mixture and adding at each pan whole.

Important. The mixture should be riquid just like  pan keks mixture.
 
The best way to enjoy this is with a big cup chai massala . Or if you want to transform it into a dessert serve with vegan sweet coconut cream
