Makande is Tanzanian loved meal which is a mixture of maize, beans, coconut and some vegetables for taste. Learn how to make this dish with following recipe.
Ingridients
225 g beans
1 onion
5 spoons cooking oil
2 garlic cloves
75 g coconut milk
225 g unsweetened corn
1 Carrot
1/2 Red and green paplika
300 water for boiling and
salt, to taste
Preparation
1. Drain the beans and maize and place in a pan. Cover the beans with water and boil rapidly for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat and continue boiling for about one hour until the beans are tender, adding more water if necessary. Drain and discard the cooking liquid.
2. Place a clean pan with the cooking oil onion (chopped), garlic (crushed), carrots (chopped), paplika (chopped) fry for 5 min add beans, corns, coconut, and salt.
3. Add the stock or water, bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to dissolve the coconut.
Nb.
Serve with home made chill source or chill flask to taste. ENJOY
